DOVER, DE -- Get your taste buds fired up for the Second Annual Delaware Wine & Beer Festival, sponsored by Kent County Tourism and set for Sunday, October 23 at Pizzadili Vineyard and Winery in Felton, DE, just minutes south of Dover off Route 13. All Delaware wineries and breweries are invited to participate in Delaware’s official wine and brew fest. "We are very pleased to be working with the Pizzadili family again on this year’s event," said Lorraine Dion, Director of Public Relations and Special Events for Kent County Tourism, a nonprofit organization sponsoring the event. "Last year’s event proved to be wildly popular with approximately 2,500 beer and wine lovers attending." The event will be held from 12 noon to 5 p.m. Admission, which will include unlimited sampling, will be $25 in advance with and $35 at the door, and will include a souvenir wine or beer glass. Non-tasting admission is $5 for adults and free to children 18 and younger. Full pours of wine and beer will be available for sale along with non-alcoholic beverages and food provided by Pizzadili Catering. Festival-goers will have the opportunity to meet Delaware’s vintners and brewers and talk about their locations, their products and their processes. Tours of the winery will be available throughout the day, and the retail shop will be open. Festival goers can participate in a keg tossing competition, and a corn hole tournament is being planned. Pizzadili Winery, was started in 1993 when the first grapes were planted by the Pizzadili brothers. Today the family business has grown into a full-scale vineyard and winery where 12 varieties of grapes are grown and used to make more than 20 wines from sweet to semi-sweet, dry, blush and fruit wines. The event will be held rain or shine inside a covered pavilion. A limited number of admission tickets may be sold at the door, if not sold out in advance. The winery is located at 1683 Peach Basket Road near Felton, DE, just minutes south of Dover. It is 1/10th of a mile off Route 13 on the right.
